Avital Chizhik-Goldschmidt is a writer living in New York City. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Foreign Policy, Vox, Vogue, Salon, Glamour, Business Insider, and Religion & Politics, among others, and Avital has taught journalism at Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women. Previously, she was the Life editor at the Forward, and a reporter for Haaretz. She is a recipient of honors from the Atlantic, Moment, the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and elsewhere. Avital does pastoral work alongside her husband Rabbi Benjamin Goldschmidt in Manhattan's Upper East Side.
