Avital Chizhik-Goldschmidt is a writer living in New York City. Previously, she was the Life editor at the Forward, and a reporter for Haaretz. Her essays have appeared in the New York Times, Vox, Salon, Glamour, and Religion & Politics, among others, and Avital has taught journalism at Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women. She is a recipient of honors from the Atlantic, Moment, the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and elsewhere. Avital does pastoral work alongside her husband Rabbi Benjamin Goldschmidt in Manhattan's Upper East Side.
